Ocean Pod

     The Ocean Pod is an elegant 30’ yurt overlooking the Pacific Ocean on a large family owned private ranch in Big Sur. It is a peaceful place to watch and to listen to the coast, the birds, the rustling leaves, and the planet spin and spin.  A creative oasis; the Pod is restful and regenerative.  As a friend said when she came to it: “Wow, muy romantico!”  The place feels unique, a refuge.

     Built on a large redwood deck, the spacious structure has a luxurious king bed, a cozy trundle couch and another sitting sofa.  The deck is breathtaking - with views to the south coast, the Santa Lucia Mountains and the forever Pacific Ocean.  The redwood bathhouse is large and comfortable, with an outsized shower and marble sink.  There is a round oak and marble interior table with sculpted chairs and, on the deck, another solid wooden table and a lovely sectional couch, a clawfoot tub, a Weber propane BBQ, a stainless steel counter with a butcher block top ,drawers for pots and pans and a sink. Inside you will find a refrigerator and most things that you might need during your stay.  To warm up your days and nights; we've installed a cozy Vermont Casting propane fireplace.

      Our guest house/yurt is sometimes available to rent for $450 nightly, there is a three-night minimum; the weekly rate is $2,500.
